As on 7th January 2020, a new strain of Coronavirus was identified. The virus has been renamed by WHO as SARS-CoV-2 and the disease caused by it as COVID-19. On 28 February 2020, WHO increased its risk assessment of COVID-19 to very high at global and regional levels. Risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) will be the main stay for containment of COVID-19. These are a set of 4 Audio Spots and focus on the following themes: 1) What is Coronavirus and how to prevent transmission, 2) Important preventive Behaviours to be adopted to reduce risk, 3) Coronavirus and importance of Handwashing and when to wash hands and 4) Important Travel related advisory.
