Heartwarming stories of our Unsung Women Champions

Heartwarming stories of our Unsung Women Champions

1.5 million Under-five children die every year in India. 45% of these deaths are due to undernutrition. Breastfeeding is one of the key life-saving interventions that can reduce child undernutrition by half. The video shows the instrumental role played by frontline workers across India in helping mothers to breastfeed their children successfully so that they get the best start to their lives. Showcasing the success stories of four such workers, the video also depicts the efforts put in by these champion women to mobilise and sensitise community women on importance of breastfeeding, how to hold a child while breast feeding and why breast feeding is the best feeding. They report that many women in their villages and communities are now aware and breastfeed their children.
