Description Synopses:
Hand washing with soap at critical times is a simple, low cost and high impact intervention that can help prevent diseases like diarrhoea and respiratory disorders. This film about hand washing initiative at one of zilla parisad schools from district Dahod of Maharashtra, highlights that children can learn the importance of handwashing better through activity based learning.
Across the nation in 1.2 million government schools, 110 million children are served their mid-day meal on daily basis. This provides a perfect platform to scale up and institutionalise the lifesaving hand washing process. The film also draws attention towards national campaign “Swachh bharat…Swachh Vidyalaya” which ensures that every school in India has a set of functioning and well maintained water and sanitation and hygiene facilities that helps children to develop appropriate sanitation and hygiene behaviour.
