The module deals with effective counselling skills required by health workers while working with adolescent girls and their families. The module discusses menstruation and physical and psychological changes experienced by adolescent girls. It is also explained that discussion on menstruation is often considered a taboo in families and communities. In such a situation the role of health worker becomes critical in helping the adolescent girls.
