Social and Behaviour Change Interventions for Promoting Childhood Immunisation

This policy brief is an outcome of an evidence review undertaken by Population Council in partnership with UNICEF and USAID under Call to Action to identify key social and behaviour change (SBC) strategies and health outcomes supporting child survival in the South Asia region, especially in India. Based on the evidence review the policy brief presents a set of interventions with the potential to increase compliance to complete immunisation and coverage. These interventions range from community engagement, counselling and interpersonal communication and strengthening service delivery system to improve vaccination rates and enhance adherence to immunisation schedule.
